Biography

Principal Chorus Master of the Tchaikovsky Perm Opera and Ballet Theatre and musicAeterna chamber chorus.
 
Vitaly Polonsky graduated from the Novosibirsk Conservatory named after Glinka. He has worked in tandem with Teodor Currentzis since 2003. As Chorus Master, Vitaly Polonsky has directed several productions at Perm Opera, including Mozart’s Cosi fan tutte (2011), Le Nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni (2014); Purcell’s Indian Queen (2013); Kourliandski’s Nosferatu (2014); Offenbach’s Les contes d’Hoffmann, Borodin’s Prince Igor (2015), Tristia (Sorrowful Elegies) by Philippe Hersant (2015), Verdi’s La Traviata (2016), Syumak’s Cantos (2016), and Puccini’s La bohème (2017, co-production with Festspielhaus, Baden-Baden).
 
Mr Polonsky regularly directs the chorus in a cappella programmes that are performed in Russia and abroad. The chorus tours extensively and has performed in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Berlin, Athens, Paris, Lisbon, Hamburg, Ferrara, Munich, Cologne, Krakow.
